PTFE Materials for Renewable Energy Manufacturing
Renewable Energy
Material Solutions
Taconic manufactures high-performance PTFE coated fabrics, tapes, films, foils, and belting materials for demanding renewable energy production environments.
From wind turbine blade manufacturing and solar panel lamination to hydrogen fuel cell component production, Taconic materials help improve release performance, process consistency, dimensional stability, surface quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Application Overview
Materials built for the energy transition.
Engineered for production reality.
Renewable energy manufacturing depends on materials that can handle heat, pressure, adhesion, release, abrasion, dimensional movement, and continuous production demands.
Taconic supports these processes with PTFE coated fiberglass fabrics, anti-static belting, Kevlar reinforced belt constructions, adhesive backed release tapes, PTFE film tapes, and custom fabricated components.
Renewable Energy Applications
One fast-moving market.
Multiple production challenges.
Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing
Clean release.
More productive blade molds.
Taconic engineers PTFE coated tapes and fabrics to act as efficient, cost-effective release surfaces for hand lay-up and open mold composite processes used in wind turbine blade production.
TacWind is a flexible, self-adhesive mold release liner used during the hand lay-up process to help provide clean removal from the completed blade, smooth blade surfaces, easier tool cleaning, and a higher number of production pulls.
