Taconic Industrial Products Division Expands Manufacturing to Latin America
October 28, 2005–Taconic today announced further expansion of its global manufacturing capabilities with the establishment of a new facility in Brazil. Taconic Brazil, located approximately 20 miles southwest of Sao Paulo in Itapecerica da Serra, will offer a full line of Taconic’s PTFE coated fiberglass fabrics, tapes and belts for a multitude of industries in South and Central America including aerospace, packaging, textile and food processing.
“We are thrilled to add Latin America to Taconic’s strategic global footprint,” commented Larry Carroll, Taconic’s CFO. “Following our expansion in Korea, the establishment of manufacturing in Brazil is another example of our continued efforts to grow Taconic’s global position. The new Brazilian operation brings us closer to the Latin American marketplace. We recognize the region’s growing market and understand their desire to source products domestically.”
